David Fenton
Topsail Projects was founded in 2005 by owner and seasoned craftsman David Fenton. Having grown-up in an environment where his father was actively working in the industry, it became second nature for David. Being a sole proprietor carpenter, his father was highly respected in the metro area for his craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Honing his skills in a large woodworking shop on their family property, David learned the 'tricks of the trade' at a very young age. More importantly, he gained a sense of pride and the realization of the importance of ethical business practice. Having grown-up up on Chebucto Head and experiencing the ever-changing east coast climate, including the strong winds, rain and fog – David realized the importance of incorporating the maritime environment in all his pre-construction planning. He understands the significance of detail and demonstrates that by building windows and door finishings that are adaptable to the unpredictable weather.
Today, David still works alongside his father with his hard working crew. The team is comprised of 5 carpenters, 2 apprentice carpenters and 2 skilled laborers, who follow the traditional skilled detailed work performance that has been at the forefront of all Topsail's projects. Spending quality time with family and friends is very important to David. He also enjoys hiking with his dogs, cycling, working out at the gym and is an avid scuba diver.
